Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Courselord (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (or have parental consent).
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • One person may not maintain more than one free account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to access restricted areas of the Platform without authorisation.
  • Cheat on assessments, quizzes, or exams.
  • Upload or share malicious, offensive, or illegal content.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Platform's source code.
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Share your account credentials with others.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Platform without permission.

4. Learning Content

  • All courses, lessons, quizzes, and materials are owned by Courselord or its content providers.
  • You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to access content for personal learning.
  • You may not download, redistribute, or resell Platform content.
  • Certificates are issued upon course completion and represent achievement — they do not constitute formal academic accreditation.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until cancelled.
  • You may cancel at any time from your Settings page; access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase for annual plans not yet substantially used.
  • Prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

6. AI Tutor

  • The AI tutor is an automated tool — responses may occasionally be inaccurate.
  • AI-generated content should not be treated as professional advice.
  • Free accounts are limited to 5 AI questions per day; Premium accounts receive unlimited access.
  • We may use your interactions to improve the AI, subject to our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Courselord — including courses, lessons, materials, software, design, and branding — is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Courselord and its licensors retain all rights.

8. User-Generated Content

If you post discussions, notes, or other content on the Platform:

  • You retain ownership of your content.
  • You grant Courselord a licence to display and moderate your content on the Platform.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

9. Limitation of Liability

Courselord is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time from Settings.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 14 days before they take effect.
