Fractions to Decimals

To convert a fraction to a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator.

Example

$\frac{3}{4}$ = 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75

$\frac{1}{3}$ = 1 ÷ 3 = 0.333… (repeating)

FractionDivisionDecimal
$\frac{1}{2}$1 ÷ 20.5
$\frac{1}{4}$1 ÷ 40.25
$\frac{3}{5}$3 ÷ 50.6
$\frac{2}{3}$2 ÷ 30.666…
⚠️ Warning

Some fractions give repeating decimals. If a decimal goes on forever, we use an ellipsis (…) or a bar over the repeating part.
